John D. Kershman Esq.

John is a Partner who manages the Clayton, Ellisville, Union, Columbia and St. Louis City (by appointmently) offices. He can be found practicing family law at the firm’s Clayton location. Licensed to practice in Missouri, including the Eastern and Western Federal Districts and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, John can handle your case in all areas of family law.

Born in St. Louis but raised in New York City, John earned his law degree from Washington University Law School at which he is as an adjunct professor leading the National Civil Rights Appellate Advocacy Team to three national championships.

Recognized for his outstanding work, John was selected as a Super Lawyer Rising Star by Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers for six consecutive years from 2010 to 2015. This award recognizes only the top 2.5 percent of up and coming lawyers in Missouri. In addition, John has been Lead Counsel Rated for Divorce/Family Law in 2014 after demonstrating significant experience, peer endorsements and a clean discipline history.  Most recently, John was selected as a Member of the Nation’s Top One Percent by The National Association of Distinguished Counsel – Nation’s Top Attorneys.  Further, John was named a Top 10 Family Law Attorney in Missouri by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys in 2016.  You can be confident you are hiring a lawyer whose work is award worthy.

When not teaching or practicing law, John enjoys spending time with his family, including Beagles Howie & Butters, cat Jake, and bunny George, playing golf and softball, and analyzing potential logical conclusions to the Game of Thrones.
